Lufia 4 documentation
=====================

Back when I finished my translation of Lufia 1 for the SNES, I messed around
with the GBA-version of the series and intended to translate it also.

I put in the german special characters for both the dialogue as well as the
menu charset (with different hex representations however resulting in two thingy
table files for each part of the game respectively).
The regular (non-image) intro texts up to the first village have been completely
translated into german tongue as well as the structure of the main menu. GOLD has
been replaced by GM (just as it was in the other games of the series), Skills is
now Magie (which is the german word for magic), some minor tweaks have been done
so the german adoptions fit nicely.
Large portions of the game have not been translated even though the structural
changes have been done. I have even found the position of the tilesets and tilemaps
for the intro texts which are stored as LZ77 compressed data structures in the ROM.
I have created image files of the translated texts which would only have to be
programatically processed into tileset/tilemap format, recompressed an inserted.
In case these compressed structures were too large, there are pointers pointing
to these locations which could be changed so they would point to the end of the
rom, where there is plenty of free space for our convenience.

This archive contains some documents I created while messing around with the game.

They are:
-image_offsets.html - a list containing locations of compressed tilemap/tilesets of the rom
-Lufia4_structure.txt - an indepth look into the internal structure of Lufia4 and what was changed for the german version
-table_lufia4_de_menu.tbl - the tablefile containing the german special characters in the menu charset
-table_lufia4_de.tbl - the tablefile containing the german special characters in the dialog charset
-table_lufia4_en.tbl - the tablefile containing the original english charset

Hope someone can use this information for something :) Enjoy!
